Trackwap is a cost-beneficial solution.
Low communication costs.
Indeed, Trackwap allows you to transfer a large flow of written information over GPRS, at a small fraction of the cost of voice communication. GPRS –also called mobile internet- service is now offered, by all the GSM providers, throughout the world.
Written Instructions, are clean and accurate, so are feedback messages, sent through the mobile devices, to the back-offices of logistics operators and their clients.
Since GPRS subscriptions are dependable on data volume and not on time, communication channels are constantly open – there is no need to intervene manually.
Voice communications are sometimes disturbing ; how many times isn’t there a need to repeat an address in a foreign city, let alone, in a foreign country.
The devices used by Trackwap, allow of course also voice communication, at any time, as a back-up.
Low hardware costs.
Hardware used by Trackwap are “off the shelf” devices, both the ones to be used in the vehicles (PDA’s), as well as the ones in the back-office.
PDA’s are mass produced, since they are used in a wide range of other applications. As far as the back-office is concerned, a simple PC, connected to the Internet, is sufficient for each user.
Trackwap is a user-friendly solution.
In the vehicles, the PDA’s are fitted with a large touch-screen, allowing the driver to read conveniently his instructions, while allowing entering data at his fingertips, by clicking on a list of proposed options, on a comprehensive menu.
They are compact and slim and if desired, they can be tucked away into the glove compartment.
A large number of devices can be added, for using the various options of Trackwap, such as a bar-code reader, a camera for assessing damages, etc.
Signature as a proof of delivery of the shipments can be entered, directly on the screen of the PDA, for immediate transmission to the back-office.
Trackwap is a true, real-time management solution. Data which is entered in the back-office of the logistics provider or his Client, can be instantly read by the vehicle driver ; information fed back by the trucker into his device, can be looked at immediately by any allowed user, world-wide, via internet.
In the back-office of the logistics provider, or his Clients, a simple Internet-connected PC enables the use of Trackwapt. Trackwap can thus be used anywhere in the world : in the office, on the road and why not, in a cyber-café.
